Smart Questions to Ask
- “What does a typical day look like in this role?”
- “What are the biggest challenges the team is currently facing?”
- “How is performance measured for this position?”
- “Can you tell me about the company culture beyond what is on the website?”
“Do you have any questions for us?” When I ask this, and you say “No,” my heart sinks. It shows a lack of curiosity. An interview is a two-way street. You are interviewing us just as much as we are interviewing you.
Ask about the company’s growth, the team dynamics, or even my own experience working there. It shifts the dynamic from an interrogation to a professional conversation. It shows you are already visualizing yourself in the role.
